Description

The exhibition 'Bacon, Freud and the School of London' is organised by Tate Britain in collaboration with the Picasso Museum, Málaga.

'School of London' was a term coined by artist R.D. Kitaj to describe a group of painters who flew the flag for figurative painting when it was distinctly unfashionable.

As well as paintings by Bacon and Freud, the exhibition includes work by David Bomberg, Michael Andrews, R.J Kitaj, Frank Auerbach, Leon Kossoff, Paula Rego, Euan Uglow and William Coldstream.
