Poet, journalist and travel writer Hugo Williams gave a wonderful evening reading in The London Sketch Club's atmospheric artists' studio. There were poems old and new as well as preview extracts from his latest collection I Knew The Bride. His poetry collections (published by Faber & Faber) include: Dear Room, Billy’s Rain, Dock Leaves and more recently, West End Final shortlisted for the 2009 Forward Poetry Prize and the TS Eliot Prize in 2010.
Hugo is a regular contributor to the ‘Freelance’ column in The Times Literary Supplement and poetry editor for The Spectator.
I Knew The Bride was shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best Collection, 2014.
